Writing a thesis or dissertation over several months requires one thing above all else: a dedicated, comfortable workspace that is free from distractions.

The USL now offers University of Bonn students the opportunity to reserve a specially equipped individual study space, called a Paper Pod, for the duration of their thesis or dissertation. Students working on a bachelor's or master's thesis, doctoral dissertation, or state examination thesis are eligible.

A total of 18 Paper Pods are available. Each pod has privacy and acoustic panels, as well as a storage container with ample space for books, notes, and other study materials.

Reservations can be requested via the online form.

Please note that to be eligible for using a Paper Pod, applicants must provide proof from their academic supervisor or the relevant examinations office that their thesis or dissertation has been officially registered.

The Paper Pods were financed by state library funds.

Applications for using a Paper Pod can be submitted using the online form.

To see which Pods are available, check the reservation system (in german).

If you have any questions about the available study spaces, please email lesesaal@ulb.uni-bonn.de.
