Since May, students and researchers have had the option of switching to the digital library card. This service is now also available to all employees. Convert your library account and switch from a card to your smartphone.

The advantages: Your library card is always with you and can be accessed directly and easily via the Uni Bonn app. There will be no more long searches or replacement cards, and you can see the expiration date at any time.

How to convert to the digital library card

Have your existing library account converted at the service desk:

  • Main Library (Mon - Fri, 10am - 6pm)
  • MNL Branch Library (Mon - Fri, 10am - 5pm)

New: Proxy accounts for borrowing and ordering

University of Bonn employees can now authorize someone else to perform library tasks on their behalf.

With a proxy account, you can transfer your borrowing, returns, magazine, interlibrary loan orders, and reservations to a person of your choice.
The authorized person will receive their own proxy library card, allowing them to securely and transparently carry out all actions on your behalf.

The application process is simple and can be completed using a form on the University of Bonn's service portal.
