The USL on the Uni Bonn App: the digital library card, libraries of the University of Bonn and the search portal bonnus.
Digital library card
The digital library card allows you to access all USL services.
Once you link it to the Uni Bonn App, your library card is always with you — no more waiting for it to be issued or forgetting it at home! Plus, the expiration date is clearly visible in the app. This way, you can renew your card in time.
Integrate the digital library card into the app
In order to use the digital library card, you must install the Uni Bonn App on your smartphone.
Installing the Uni Bonn App
In order to use the digital library card of the USL Bonn, you must first install the Uni Bonn App on your smartphone.
Set up your library account in the Uni Bonn App
1) Assign a password
Have you not yet set a password for your library account? Choose a password in the bonnus search portal.
This password will be used to create the link to the Uni Bonn App.
2) Link the Uni Bonn app with your library card
- Go to “Account management” in the menu (icon with three lines in the top left corner of the screen).
- Tap "Not linked" for the USL Bonn.
- Enter your user number and password.
- Accept the privacy policy and link your library account.
- Navigate to your wallet and update it.
That's it! You can now use your digital library card through the app.
Libraries of the University of Bonn
In the Uni Bonn App, you will find all the important information about the University of Bonn's libraries. Under the "Library" menu item in the "Library Information" tab, all libraries are listed with their most important information, such as their telephone number, address, and website, all at a glance.
Search portal bonnus
We are currently working with the University IT and Data Center (Hochschulrechenzentrum, HRZ) to enable access to the bonnus search portal via the Uni Bonn App. This will allow you to perform preliminary searches directly within the app and determine which media are available in the University of Bonn.
This function is expected to be available starting in June.
