Starting in September 2025, access to the Main Library will be regulated by an automatic entry control system.
The system will replace the previous access checks carried out by the security service and has three gates, one of which is also suitable for people using wheelchairs or walking aids.
Test runs in advance
To test the process, trial runs will take place shortly before the system goes live on the following dates:
- Monday, August 25th, 2025, 8:00 - 12:00
- Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, 8:00 - 12:00
- Thursday, August 28th, 2025, 8:00 - 12:00
Important notice for users with a digital library card
A new version of the Uni Bonn app will be available starting August 18th, 2025. To ensure smooth access through the new control system, please update your app in advance.
If you have a physical library card, you don't need to take any action and can pass through the entry control without any issues.
