What is Open Access?

Open Access  is a form of scholarly publishing that originated within the academic community itself. Simply put, Open Access means free access to scholarly publications and other information in digital form. The goal of Open Access is to make research findings freely accessible and reusable for people around the world – at no cost and without technical or legal barriers.

Open Access Service Center

The Open Access Service Center is the central point of contact at the University of Bonn for all questions and information related to Open Access. Here, researchers receive financial support and guidance on publishing options, funding criteria, and the benefits of providing open access to scholarly work.
