Our Service
With the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software, the University of Bonn provides you with a system that maps the entire publishing process for academic journals—from submission, to peer review, to publication.
We offer:
- Advice on setting up a journal or migrating an existing journal
- Provision of the technical infrastructure
- Support with publication
- Application for an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number)
- Assignment of a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and URN (Uniform Resource Name)

Requirements
- at least one editor is a member of or works at the University of Bonn
required URL: [Title of the journal].uni-bonn.de - if desired, editors can register their own domain. The ULB will provide the necessary information so the journal can be reached via the own domain.

Open Access Journals
In the following, we present the academic Open Access (OA) journals supported by the ULB Bonn that are affiliated with the University of Bonn. These journals publish peer-reviewed research results free of charge, in line with scholar-led publishing.
ERDKUNDE – Journal of Human and Physical Geographies is an international, peer-reviewed OA journal for all fields of geography. Independent of publishers and free of charge for authors, it publishes quality-assured articles with rapid online publication.
Notas de Antropología de las Américas (NAA) is the Open Access journal of the "Anthropology of the Americas" department at the University of Bonn. It promotes the exchange of current research in anthropology, archaeology, and history of Latin America.
