In the future, library users will receive their library card in digital form only - directly and easily accessible via the Uni Bonn App.
Anyone applying for a new library account or renewing an existing one after 05/15/2025 will automatically receive the digital card.
A library card that accompanies you
The digital library card can be accessed at any time via the "Uni Bonn App". This makes it easier to use - no waiting for the card to be issued, no forgetting or replacing cards. Another practical feature: the validity date is clearly visible in the app. This makes it easier for you to keep track of your card's expiration date.
How to convert to the digital library card
Existing library accounts can be converted at the following service desks beginning May 15th:
- Main Library (Mon - Fri, 10am - 6pm)
- MNL Branch Library (Mon - Fri, 10am - 5pm)
Exception: Employees
Employees of the University of Bonn will be migrated to the digital library card at a later date.
