The Alma library management system is being moved to a new data centre. As a result, there will be restrictions on use at the USL Bonn (Main Library and MNL Branch Library) on Saturday, July 12th and Sunday, July 13th.
Various online and on-site services will be affected. In addition, individual systems for researching and booking workspaces will not be available.
What is affected in detail?
The following on-site services will not be available during maintenance:
- no lending of media
- no return of media
- The open stacks will be closed all day on both days.
The following services are not available online during maintenance:
- no searches in the bonnus search portal, alternatively the hbz union catalogue is available
- no access to your user account in bonnus and therefore no independent extensions
- no interlibrary loans via DigiBib
- no booking of workspaces
In the MNL Branch Library it is still possible to borrow skulls, skeletons and legal texts for on-site use via the service desk.
The workspaces in both libraries can be used as usual.

From Monday, July 14th all services are expected to be available again as usual.
