Bonnerbibliotheken.de: A new library portal for Bonn The new library portal enables parallel search for literature in several libraries of Bonn and its vicinity.

The portal bonnerbibliotheken.de enhances the visibility of library services around Bonn and supports a comprehensive literature search. Besides Bonn University and State Library, municipal libraries and the Alanus library, museum libraries, specialised libraries and non-university research libraries are included in order to make their interesting collections available to the public.

The voluntary association BonnerBibliotheken, established on 1 March 2019, has been joined by 15 libraries so far. Apart from the parallel literature search, the cooperation’s objective is to provide an overview of relevant local libraries, their profiles, services, and terms of use. In addition to this, the cooperation ensures a continuous exchange between the libraries and the establishment of a local network.

The simultaneous search in currently 10 libraries is based on the framework of DigiBib, a service by the North Rhine-Westphalian Library Service Centre (hbz – „Hochschulbibliothekszentrum des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen“). As a second search option, the website leads to single library catalogues via direct links.

The cooperation network is open for any libraries from Bonn and its surrounding area. If you are interested or if you have any questions, the steering group’s chairwoman, Dr. Annette Specht, can be contacted via email ([Email protection active, please enable JavaScript.]).
